Oath Keepers is an outreach organization primarily of and for military and law enforcement to support them in upholding the oaths they swore to support and defend the Constitution.
Our mission is to reach, teach, and inspire all who have taken an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, particularly military and law enforcement officers, to encourage and insist that they honor their oath to the U.S. Constitution. We remind all to remain true to that oath which requires them to obey only valid orders that do not violate the Constitution of the United States.
Our primary concern is that those who have sworn or affirmed to support and defend the Constitution, particularly our military and law enforcement officers, do NOT follow unconstitutional orders, if given, especially as they relate to actions against those for whom the Blessings of Liberty are to be secured, which is “…ourselves and our Posterity…” who are the people of the United States and their yet-to-be-born descendants in the womb and beyond.
To honor our oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, and other provisions of our oath, requires that we keep others from violating their oath and hold those who violate their oath accountable, so that they do not continue to harm the Constitution, our communities and Our Nation.
Who We Are
Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of former and currently serving Military, Police and Peace Officers, and Fire Fighters who will fulfill the Oath we swore, with the support of like-minded citizens who take an Oath to stand with us, to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God. Our Oath is to support and defend the Constitution and we ask God to help us do exactly that.
We are united by a common concern regarding government officials who violate their oath of office, particularly by refusing to support and defend the U.S. Constitution. Our oath requires that we hold such violating officials accountable.
What We Do
The general purpose of Oath Keepers is to fulfill the Oath we swore to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.
Our motto: “Not on our watch!”
More specifically, we aim to assist our military and law enforcement officers with a better understanding of the U.S. Constitution, including the principle that when you swear to support and defend the Constitution, no supervisor, no government official, no citizen has the authority to order you to violate that oath by acting counter to the Constitution.
To this end, every Oath Keeper is tasked with better understanding the Constitution so they are better able to reach out, teach, and inspire anyone who wishes to better understand the obligation one takes on when he or she takes an oath to support and defend the Constitution, particularly active-duty military, police, and peace officer personnel.
All too often, little thought is given to the oath we take; however, it is that oath that is a contract with the good people of our communities, our state, and our nation; and those good people should and must hold every oath-taker accountable according to that contract.
Our core policy of REACH, TEACH, and INSPIRE provides the opportunity for all to better understand this contract which each oath actually is. By better understanding, we can be better assured that this contract, that is our oath, will be faithfully followed and that oath-takers will gladly become life-long oath keepers.
We are, however, first and foremost, about holding ourselves accountable according to our oath, and helping others hold themselves accountable as well. It is all about better understanding our responsibilities to support and defend the Constitution so that we can continue to “…secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity…”, as the Constitution requires.
This is what we OATH KEEPERS OF NEW YORK do; this is what our oath requires of us: you can help us do it even better.
