On October 1, 2013, Stewart Rhodes announced a shift in focus for Oath Keepers nationwide. While the primary mission of Oath Keepers had been up to this point to “reach, teach and inspire” local law enforcement and military, the focus will now be on what was formerly a secondary objective: assisting in the development of communities capable of weathering any storm.
By this point in time, every [responsible] business has a “disaster recovery/business continuity” plan in place. It only makes sense that local communities emulate this best practice and likewise prepare for the worst. This is the thrust of Oath Keepers’ new priority #1: aid local communities in establishing their disaster recovery/”business” continuity–or, in the words of Mr. Rhodes, “civilization preservation”–plans.
Note that the “RTI” mission is not to be discarded, but merely prioritized after “hardening” one’s community. Reaching, teaching and inspiring our law enforcement officers and active-duty military regarding their oaths to the Constitution is still of critical importance.
